Most guys overcomplicate their morning hair routine. The reality is, if you are working with a good cut and a few well-chosen products, five minutes is genuinely all you need. Here is how to approach it.
It Starts the Night Before
How you sleep on your hair matters more than most people realise. Cotton pillowcases create friction and can leave your hair flat or frizzy by morning. Switching to a satin or microfibre pillowcase is a small change that makes your morning routine a lot more straightforward. If your hair tends to go haywire overnight, try loosely shaping it before bed.
Wake Up, Don’t Rewash
Unless you worked up a serious sweat, you don’t need to shampoo every morning. Running warm water through your hair and towel drying is enough to reset the shape. Pat dry rather than rough drying to avoid frizz, then let it sit at around 80 percent dry before reaching for any product.
Pick One Product and Actually Learn to Use It
The biggest mistake most guys make is using too much product or the wrong type for their hair. Clay and paste give texture and hold without a greasy finish, which suits most shorter cuts. Pomade works well for slicker styles. A pea-sized amount warmed between your palms and worked through slightly damp hair from back to front is enough for most looks. If your routine feels more complicated than it should, it is usually a sign the cut needs freshening up. Book in and we will get you sorted.
